Unrequited Love

                                       Unrequited Love

That day, Rosie was cooking in the kitchen. A strange feeling of happiness filled her heart. Her husband had been away for two years on work. Today he was returning home. Rosie thought to herself – how long had it been since she felt his touch? She was making chicken and fish curry, aloo bhatta, and hot rotis. The smell of spices on her hands, sweat on her forehead, but a sweet smile on her face.

Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps at the door. Rosie turned around. Her husband was standing at the door, looking at her. After two years of separation, there was deep love and longing in his eyes. He came in slowly, put the bag down. Rosie's heart skipped a beat. He came from behind and hugged her. His warm breath was on Rosie's neck. "I'm here... I missed you so much," he whispered.

Rosie turned and hugged him. Her husband kissed her forehead, then. Rosie's body trembled. Now she was hungry, more than she had been in two years. He carried her from the kitchen to the bedroom. He laid her gently on the bed. His hands moved over Rosie's body, her waist, her back, her throat. Every touch made a fire burn in Rosie's body. She felt that this child was reaching not only her skin, but her soul as well. Her whole body was filled with hunger - a deep, uncontrollable hunger.

Her husband slowly opened her robe. Rosie leaned in and surrendered herself. His kiss, his embrace, his touch – all of it combined to form a wonderful union. Rosie said, “After so many days... I had forgotten this feeling. But today my whole body is hungry for you.” Her husband smiled and pulled her closer. “I will also starve you to death,” he said. That night, time stood still. Only the breathing of the two of them, the beating of their hearts, and a unique language of love. When she woke up in the morning, Rosie thought of resting her head on his shoulder – after two years of separation, this union had become even sweeter.
